Ceará is one of the 27 states of Brazil, located in the northeastern part of the country, on the Atlantic coast. It is also one of the main tourist destinations in Brazil. The state capital is the city of Fortaleza, the country's fourth most populous city.

Literally, the name Ceará means "sings the jandaia.  According to José de Alencar, one of the most important writers of Brazil and an authority in Tupi Guaraní, Ceará means turquoise or green waters. There are also theories that the state name would derive from Siriará, a reference to the crabs from the seashore. In this path you will get to know beautiful places like: Paracuru, Flexeiras, Baleia, Ilha do Guajiru (international kite point) and Arpoeiras beach.

Arriving at Rancho do Peixe, an amazing kite spot, just few km downwind from Jericoacoara. that is a truly beautiful beachside hotel spread over several acres with kite rigging area, bar, restaurant and swimming pool. This hotel was selected as a Tripadvisor 2017 Travelers Choice and a Condé Nast award in 2016. Delta Route

Preá to Atins -- near by Lençois Maranhenses

Duration: 7 days / 6 nights / Total Distance: 350 kilometers

Difficulty: Difficult

This is the natural continuation of the Classic Path.

Here, you will have a pleasure to make a downwind in 3 diferents states of Brazil on this route: Ceará, Piauí and Maranhão.

Piauí has the shortest coastline of any of the Brazilian states at 66 km and the capital -- Teresina, is the only state capital in the northeast to be located inland. The reason for this is, unlike the rest of the area, Piauí was first colonized inland and slowly expanded towards the ocean, rather than the other way around. In the southeast of the state, the National Park of Serra da Capivara is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park has more than 400 archaeological sites and the largest concentration of rock paintings in the world, in a landscape dominated by canyons and caatinga.

In this path landscape starts to change a lot. You will be getting to a transition area between the dry northeast region to the wet and green Amazon forest. There will be more rivers, dunes, mangroves, forest, and less civilization.

And you will get to know 2 treasures of Brazil: The Delta of Parnaiba, and optionally the Lençois Maranhenses. With untouched nature, these 2 sanctuaries are a must for those seeking wildness and we are happy to take you there with all the safety. (The amazing Lençois Maranhenses is an extra that can be organized previously).
