Day 1 – Check in at Vila Marola – Taíba
Welcome to Taíba! We will have a welcome meeting in the afternoon at 3pm to meet each other and a warm up session to get to know the kiting conditions and test your equipment out front of the hotel. Amazing dinner at 7pm.
Please make sure all your bags including kite bags are tagged with your name on check in.
Day 2 – Taíba to Guajirú (55km)
We will meet for breakfast at 8am and have a briefing at 9am. This will be done every day and is very important to share details of the route, specific risks or cautious areas, and define stops and strategic meeting points.
Please take all luggage and personal belongings to reception straight after the briefing, these will be loaded onto the cars, your kite equipment will be at the kite storage area at the beach area and will be loaded into the cars from there. We leave whenever the wind starts blowing.
Our first downwind takes us from the wave spot of Taíba, passing along some more amazing wave spots like Paracuru beach, to the town of Guajirú. This is where we will rest from the first day and celebrate our achievement. (Vila Vagalume)
Day 3 – Guajirú to Icaraizinho (58km)
The third day of our trip sees us leaving when the wind starts. Passing through Flexeiras, Mundaú and Baleia, spectacular beaches surrounded by red rocks and palm trees will take your breath away.
Usually the 4×4 follows the group during the whole way to Icaraízinho but depending on the tide condition where the rivers meets the ocean, we may have no access by car.
We will arrive at the popular beach town of Icaraizinho for a well-deserved rest and dinner.
Day 4 – Icaraizinho to Preá (95km)
After breakfast and the morning meeting we will continue our downwind to the famous kite lagoon at Ilha do Guajiru. Here the rivers meet the sea and only you and your kite can pass through to the beach.
Every year thousands of kiters flock to this amazing 4km long by 1km wide lagoon. After lunch we continue or voyage past amazing landscapes to the home of Surfin Sem Fim, “Rancho Do Peixe” in Preá.
Rancho do Peixe is a truly beautiful beachside hotel spread over several acres with kite rigging area, bar, restaurant and swimming pool, at night we enjoy the famous hospitality and great food (Rancho Do Peixe)
Day 5 – Preá to Camocim (62km)
This day downwind is a one close to the hearts of many who live or frequent Preá and Jeri as a kite location. The long beach of Preá has the best wind in the coast, often over 30 knots and some nice waves on the way past the cliffs and famous Pedra Furada (rock arch), Passing the famous Beach of Jericoacoara and the sunset dune, Guriú, Tatajuba and crossing a river past the town of Camocim and arriving at the beautiful point of Caraúbas, where we can enjoy some good food and excellent rest.
Day 6 – Camocim to Barra Grande (60km)
We will pass through an amazing river called Bitupitá, a truly unbelievable landscape. Afterwards we’ll arrive in a small, colorful fishermen village of Barra Grande to have a great dinner in the township at 7pm and good night sleep at Pousada Titas.
Day 7 – Barra Grande to Ilha Dos Poldros (65km)
In the morning we will split our luggage into what will say with the car and what will come with us to the Island by boat, if there is something you will not need for the following day / night, please separate this as the logistics to the island are complicated.
Be prepared to experience the marvellous Delta do Parnaíba. It’s an amazing environment in one of the most beautiful places in Brazil. We stay the night at Ilha dos Poldros private hotel. It is truly unique, very remote and simply AMAZING. Here you get a taste of what it’s like to be right in the middle of the Delta, with rivers snaking through the dunes and wildlife everywhere. Dinner at 7h30pm. (Ilha dos Poldros)
Day 8 – Ilha dos Poldros to Tutóia (65km)
Early morning breakfast and briefing as this is a big day! It is important to have your bags ready and in the entrance early as they will need to be taken to the port. We can take to the beach a selection of two kite sizes to choose once we are on the beach.
You will find amazing rivers, dunes, great waves until the river meet the sea and only you and your kite can pass through to the beach until the local and native Tutóia beach, which will connect kiters and support cars back in the simple little town.
Day 9 – Tutóia to Atins (70km)
Early morning briefing and breakfast before leaving Tutóia. The next stretch has some amazing waves and tidal lagoons, passing the isolated township of Arpoador.
Passing the wild beach and endless windmills of Barra Vermelha we approach the township of Atins on the doorstep of Lençóis Maranhenses. Atins is another truly unique and beautiful spot. Vila Guará makes for an incredible place to relax under the stars at the end of the trip. You might want to stay an extra night to enjoy the incredibly remote, unique, tranquil and beautiful surroundings. Here we will have a great dinner at 7pm in the charming sandy streets of the village, overnight at Vila Guará.
Day 10 – Check out Atins
Final breakfast at Vila Guará, Check out by noon.
